TURIN – The appointment with the twelfth edition of Terra Madre Salone del Gusto is approaching. From 20 to 24 September, the city of Turin will host this international event dedicated to agro-biodiversity, which will also feature the Maremma Slow Food presidents.
Among those who carry the flag of Grosseto, we find
Jacopo Goracci, who besides directing the splendid Estate full-time
of Paganico, is president of the Maremma Bazza Cattle Association and is
head of the Presidium of the Maremmana Breed for Slow Food. To the ground
Mother, will be present in three forums held at the Lingotto
Fairs:
On September 21st, from 10.30am to 12.00pm, he will be a speaker at
debate “Beyond the CAP: towards a common food policy” where it is
will address the need for a new European support policy for
farms and then, from 14:00 to 16:00, will be the
moderator for the forum “Quality breeding – The cattle” where
breeding methods able to preserve the environment will be presented
and animal welfare.
Moreover, September 22nd from 16:00 to 18:00 will be among the speakers
of the forum “Quality breeding – Pigs”, where Slow breeders
Food will present alternative forms of farming
industry.
Jacopo Goracci graduated in Animal Production Sciences in Pisa
and has obtained a doctorate on the link between pasture and quality of
meat of the Cinta Senese pigs.
Strong of his academic background, with his reflections there
will allow to analyze some food issues more
consciously.
In a recent interview, Goracci analyzes the concept of organic,
which for us consumers is equivalent to a guarantee for the quality of the
food, but that actually deserves careful analysis.
The “bio”, which invades the shelves of the big chains of
supermarket, it is not the same that can be found only by the little ones
local producers.
This is one of the many interesting points of reflection that
will turn on the debate in the forums chaired by Jacopo Goracci and by
representatives of Slow Food presidia.
