On January 23, 1953, a group of 7 farmers decided to start a cooperative, thus creating the Pomonte Agricultural Cooperative. Over the years this decision of theirs has proved to be successful and as a small structure that sold raw materials, today it is on the market with a wide range of items and services, collecting and selling numerous products from dozens of farms and providing agrotechnical assistance, phytosanitary technique, for fertilizing and sowing the land. In addition to these services, the structure has been enriched with a grocery store, its own oil mill where olives are processed conferred by its members, and shops selling equipment for cultivation, gardening, tools and hardware, animal feed, plants, livestock equipment, wine cellar equipment, etc.
In addition to its headquarters in Pomonte, the structure has a store located in Scansano and one in Santa Caterina in the municipality of Roccalbegna.
The Cooperative has for some years undertaken the production of durum wheat semolina pasta (in the variants of spaghetti, pici, tagliatelle, penne rigate, mezze penne, fusilli and gigli) cultivated by its members. In its own mill it produces extra virgin olive oil, both classic and Tuscan IGP oil, among those of the Scansano oil consortium.

It produces traditional salamis in the laboratory inside the supermarket butcher's shop such as sausage, salami, salami, capocollo, bacon etc. furthermore, in the internal butchery at the supermarket, it sells cross-breed beef such as "limousine", "belgian blue", "charolaise" all coming from the farms of its members. It also sells sheep and pork meat from local farms.
